Our Autumn Dance Programme is an 8‑week youth dance experience running from September to October, designed to help children stay active, express themselves creatively, develop confidence, and build friendships in a fun and supportive environment.
Each session combines movement, music, teamwork, and creative activities to ensure children enjoy learning while developing new skills. The programme is suitable for beginners and children with previous dance experience.
No previous dance experience required.
What children will do each week:
Week 1 (September) – Welcome to Dance
• Meet the group and instructor
• Icebreaker games and movement activities
• Introduction to rhythm and basic dance techniques
• Confidence-building exercises through movement
Week 2 (September) – Exploring Movement
• Learn how to move safely and confidently
• Introduction to body coordination and balance
• Creative movement challenges
• Partner and group activities
Week 3 (September) – Rhythm and Musicality
• Understanding beats and timing
• Dancing to different styles of music
• Fun rhythm games
• Developing listening and movement skills
Week 4 (September) – Dance Techniques and Skills
• Learn simple dance combinations
• Improve posture, flexibility, and coordination
• Practice transitions and movement patterns
• Build confidence performing in small groups
Week 5 (October) – Creative Choreography
• Create original dance routines
• Work in teams to develop ideas
• Encourage imagination and self-expression
• Learn how to perform together
Week 6 (October) – Teamwork and Performance Skills
• Group dance activities
• Communication and collaboration exercises
• Introduction to stage presence and performance confidence
• Practice routines as a team
Week 7 (October) – Rehearsal and Showcase Preparation
• Refine routines and movement sequences
• Build confidence performing in front of others
• Celebrate progress and achievements
• Prepare for final showcase
